It means the festival of lights and Indian Hindus enjoy the festival joyfully by lighting up their houses and shops. It falls on the third and main day of Diwali, after Dhanteras and Narak Chaturdashi.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #db0000;\">Devotees perform the puja to invite the Goddess to their homes. Believers place small oil lamps or candles inside and outside their homes as a gesture of their respect <\/span><span style=\"color: #db0000;\">to Goddess Lakshmi.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #db0000;\">According to legend, Goddess Lakshmi visits her devotees and grants them blessings during this time and the puja is performed for prosperity, abundance, <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #db0000;\"> happiness, and spiritual prosperity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #db0000; text-decoration: underline;\">Here are a few things to keep in mind while performing the Lakshmi Puja- <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #db0000;\">Clean your house before Diwali. It is a common belief that Goddess Lakshmi likes cleanliness and visits the cleanest house first. Throw away the unwanted items and create some space for the happiness and prosperity. Ensure that the front door of your home opens fully which allows the divine energies to enter your home.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #db0000;\">Purchase a new broom on Diwali and use that one to clean the place of puja. Broom helps in improving the prosperity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #db0000;\"> Have the Puja room in the north-east corner of the house as north-east is the direction of prosperity and having puja room in this direction it brings in positive energy in the house. It represents the connectivity with the higher self and should be set in this particular direction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #db0000;\"> Avoid keeping two idols of the same god made by same material in the puja room. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #db0000;\"> While placing the idols in the puja room, ensure that you place the idol of Lord Ganesha on the left side and idol of Goddess Saraswati on the right side of Goddess Lakshmi. It is recommended that you bring the idols of all the God and Goddess in sitting form. The idols should not face the door of the puja room or one another.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #db0000;\"> Place the &#8216;Kalash&#8217; in on the bed of rice. Fill it 75% with water. Put a flower, betel nut, a coin, and some rice in the Kalash and arrange mango leaves <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #db0000;\"> around its opening.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #db0000;\"> While it is easier to get readymade sweets from the market, it is recommended to offer homemade sweets like rice kheer to Goddess Lakshmi.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #db0000;\"> Light a lamp of sesame oil near the Tulsi plant.
